Our Vision

As followers of Jesus, our goal at GPC is to become a loving, Bible-centred church family who are actively inviting people around us to trust and follow Jesus too.

As we grow together, we will be welcoming, open and flexible, so the good news of Jesus is made clear through us. We want to have a positive influence on the wider church and our world, and to encourage and train Christian leaders for the future.

As people who live on the Central Coast of NSW, we want to see God's Kingdom grow in our local area, but we also have a concern for the rest of the world. And so we seek to resource people to take the good news of Jesus into their families, friendships, places of work and study, their communities, ...in fact, into the whole world!

As a church we hold to the following Reformed and Evangelical position: 1. We believe in the divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 2. We believe there is one God in whom there are three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternally existing, only begotten Son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. 3. We believe all people are by nature rebellious (sinful) against God the Creator, and are thereby justly subject to the judgement of God. 4. We believe that salvation from the penalty of such rebellion is found only through the substitutionary atoning death of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his one true sacrifice that we can have a restored right relationship with God, and receive the gift of eternal life. 5. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 6. We believe it is the Holy Spirit who convicts people of sin and brings them to faith and repentance. Only through the work of the Holy Spirit is the believer able to live a holy life that is pleasing to God. 7. We believe in the one holy universal church, the body of Christ, to which all true believers belong. 8. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will return in person, judge all who have evr lived, and that he will then make complete, the Kingdom of God.

These 8 statements are a summary of Evangelical or Biblical Christianity and carry no specific authority. The official statement of faith for the Presbyterian Church of Australia is the Westminster Confession of Faith.
