‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it’ (John 1:5).
‘You are warmly invited to join us at Gosford PC’s Easter Church Services. We’ll sing, pray and reflect on Jesus’ life-giving death and resurrection.
Visitors are very welcome – drop in to discover what makes Easter truly special! Our services are meaningful, family-friendly and a great way to connect with our community. You don’t have to be a follower of Jesus to join in – we’d love to see you no matter where you’re at when it comes to faith.
We’d love to welcome you and your family, and hope you can join us. Happy Easter!’
Matt Ham, Senior Minister
Thursday 28 Mar 8pm | Tenebrae Service
Tenebrae means ‘darkness’ or ‘shadows’. This style of service has been practised by Christians since mediaeval times. It involves reflecting on Bible passages about Jesus’ arrest and persecution, while using lights to symbolise the encroaching shadow of Jesus’ death on Good Friday. During the Service, lights are gradually dimmed, until we finish in darkness and silence. It’s a moving way to connect more deeply with Jesus’ experiences, and to make space for reflection on God’s goodness amidst our own struggles and sorrows.
Friday 29 Mar 9am | Good Friday Church Service
At this Service, we will come together to remember Jesus’ death and burial with Bible readings, songs, prayer and a sermon.
Sunday 31 Mar 9.30am & 6.30pm | Easter Sunday Services
Christ is risen! Join us as we celebrate with family-friendly Easter Sunday Services. With songs, Bible readings, prayer, a Bible talk, and activities for kids, it’s going to be a special day of praising God and enjoying time with our community.
